First of all, point out to me where I said “only Block B” because I’m well aware that a host of grown men don’t know when to quit. Secondly, bandmates and Dongho aside, Nichkhun was NOT in the wrong. The same way I have something to say anytime an idol thinks it’s ok to do blackface, Khunnie, as a THAI person, had something to say when a natural disaster in his home country was made light of. And I am a BBC as well and it’s fine to come to their defense when people are making death threats and telling them to disband but don’t think for a second that that’s the ONLY thing BBCs are going crazy over because I’ve seen countless people being attacked by Block B fans for even criticizing them for the incident. So don’t tell me that no BBCs are over-reacting because they definitely are when they go crazy over a criticism. I’ve already had people go off on me and not once have i told them to disband or threatened their lives but I do criticize the incident because it was wrong any way you look at it.

I was addressing the implications by that statement. The argument that they “should have known better,” albeit a reasonable one, is getting old and has already been addressed by every BBC coming to their defence. Everyone has said something insensitive before, no one is innocent of that, and it should be dropped now that they’ve apologized. Hating someone for making light of a situationis as ridiculous as it was of the person making light of the situation in the first place. What more do you want from them now that they’ve apologized?

Nichkhun was entirely unprofessional. Tell me how, as a colleague, it was in anyway professional for him to call out a group on Twitter? They’re not fourteen year old girls in middle school verbally combating each other over a choice of poor words. Block B was not intentionally offensive to Thai fans, there is a difference between someone being inflammatory on purpose, and someone being poorly informed and saying something that they’d come to regret later. That’s why there’s a difference between the idols that do blackface, and the comments made by Block B. Insensitivity versus bigotry, there’s a huge leap between the two issues.

I’ve yet to see a BBC overreact to the degree that Hottest have. Not saying it didn’t happen, I won’t question your personal accounts since I haven’t seen it, but I’ve been in the Block B tag and all I see are BBCs asking people to stop sending death threats and calling for their disbandment, or Hottest and other fans screaming about how they’ll hate Block B forever.

I myself have said what Block B said was wrong, and they should have been more thoroughly coached on Thai manners before the interview took place.

But to hate them and demand they be forever in shame is beyond ridiculous.

Going off on the “haters” and defending oppars honor. As a fellow BBC I can honestly say to these other fans…shut the fuck up. People have every right, especially Thai fans, to be upset. It was insensitive and embarrassing any way you look at it. I don’t care if they spend the rest of their lives apologizing for it. They KNEW better. You can’t just do what you want and say what you want without consequence and now they see that. Hopefully they will learn from this egregious oversight and reflect on their lack of home training because as a noona and a fan, I am so deeply embarrassed for them. No one is defending what they said, but rather, are upset because this entire thing was blown out of proportion. Nichkhun (his bandmates, and apparently Dongho how too) reacted with an extreme lack of professionalism for a month-old interview. Now that they’ve apologized and people are still flipping shit, of course BBCs are going to come to their defence. What are BBCs supposed to do? Sit back and watch as people demand that Block B disband? Receive death threats?

People should be equally upset that a joke in poor taste has been taken to the point that Block B’s mothers are getting verbally attacked now. They’ve all left heartfelt apologies, especially Zico.

BBCs are not overreacting, it’s everyone else who is.

Before I continue, Block B’s behaviour was rude and insensitive. I’m not arguing that, nor am I defending it. But now that they’ve given heartfelt apologies, each of them. What more can they do than offer their apologies and do better in the future?

But oh, allkpop, you never fail to leave me shaking my head. It wasn’t even a paragraph in before you spun the article, was it?

News source? Don’t make anyone laugh. You’re a group of bitter bloggers who jump at the chance to ruin groups’ reputations. You run on reporting idol’s mistakes, fuelling the fires of fan wars, stirring up as much trouble as you can for the groups that have managed to get on your bad side for one reason or another.

You mentioned their apologies in the very last paragraph of the news article. What was it, two lines? And then said to stay tuned?

How hard would it have been to include the already-translated apologies in that same article? Allkpop, you are the embodiment of what’s wrong in the kpop fandom.

To the VIPs that are going to complain about this - BIGBANG’s “Sunset Glow” is not 100% original. It’s a remake.

But there is a clear distinction between the original version and Big Bang’s version, which Teen Top sung.

And no one was going to get butthurt over one group doing a cover of another group’s song, it happens all the time, and Teen Top did it well. (In fact, Big Bang has done serveral covers, such as covering Turbo’s black cat.)
